Change FYL Teams:
FYL Girls Select- LAST CALL
by posted 01/16/2020

LAST CALL TO INDICATE INTEREST IN PLAYING FRIDAY NIGHT SELECT!  If you have a 5/6 or 7/8 daughter interested in playing Friday Night Select, please let us know ASAP!  Friday is the deadline for FYL to register a team.  Responses from the 5/6 crew have been very light.....we would need a big jump if we are going to field a team at this age group.

U13 & U15 Girls,

We are trying to gauge demand for Friday Night Select Teams, this year at both the U13 (5/6 grade) and the U15 (7/8 grade) levels.  Last year we fielded a 7/8 Team, but not a 5/6 Team.  In year's past we have fielded one at each level.  There is also some opportunity to combine with another town if numbers don't allow for us to go Framingham only.

Tryouts will be open to all Framingham Girls with at least 1 yr. of previous lacrosse experience who can consistently cradle, catch and throw (both sides preferable).  It is our hope that in addition to the regular “Classic” team schedule, these select games will be a great outlet for our girls who want a more competitive game environment, with similarly skilled players.  The Select Teams will compete in the Pioneer League which has a 6 game schedule, played on Friday evenings.  We hope to have one or two pre and early season practices to help the girls get familiar with each other, after which it will only be games.  The Select Season is expected to start at the mid-end of April. If your daughter is interested in trying out, it is important that you notify Josh Franklin and that they attend as many of our Indoor sessions as possible.  Depending on interest and competitive evaluations, we may schedule a final tryout for only those interested.  If interested, please e-mail your intentions as soon as possible with, daughter’s name, grade, and or any questions to Josh at:     We need to determine numbers before we can register a Select Team or decide to combine with another town.

It is important that all interested players notify Josh Franklin, be registered for their regular town team, and attend the last several sessions of Indoor.  If your daughter can't attend indoor, please contact Josh.

Coaches’ evaluations for our Select team will be ongoing throughout our indoor sessions.

If you would like your player considered for the Select team, please send an email to:  and Coach Josh Franklin at so that we can make sure information is captured for each player who can make the commitment.

Players who aren't evaluated at an indoor session cannot be considered for the Select team. Formal evaluation is mandatory for consideration for the Select team.

It is expected that players accepting a spot on Select have lacrosse as their PRIMARY sport.  Additionally, 100% participation at Select games is expected except in the event of a confirmed school activity.

2020 Select Tuition is still being finalized, but is expected to be similar to past seasons ($100-$120 range) will cover referee fees.  The tuition will be billed to those girls selected to a team and can be paid in two installments.

We look forward to sharing schedules and details as they become available and please reach out if you have ANY questions.

Girls grade 5 & 6 (U13) Program Outline
by posted 10/15/2019

Outline of Framingham girls grade 5 & 6 (U13) lacrosse program

  • Philosophy:  We provide a positive, instruction-oriented program for girls both new to the sport and provide skill training to those who have played before.
  • We believe that lacrosse should be fun for the players, and provide a foundation for building character that will instill teamwork, discipline, integrity, sportsmanship and respect to other players, coaches and parents.
  • grades 5 & 6 - we expect two girls teams this year at this level
  • Teams are mixed by grade
  • Teams are balanced by ability - no "A", "B" team as equally as possible
  • (optional) indoor sessions at Forekicks in Marlboro on Thursday nights from 7-8 starting January 9 and going through March - week off for Feb vacation
  • Equipment:  All practices - preseason indoor and spring outdoor are "real" practices and players are expected to have all required equipment.      Link to our list of equipment
  • 2 practices per week starting when the Town releases the fields which is entirely dependent on weather - hopefully by end of March
  • Metrowest games on Sunday starting end of March/early April - depends on other Towns and field availability
  • The focus is learning the game and having fun
  • Equal play time
  • End of season Jamboree in mid-June
  • At this time we have NO dates or times - we are almost entirely volunteer based so practices days/times are entirely dependent on field availability and volunteer coach personal schedules
  • Uniforms
    • Prior season uniforms can be re-used
    • New uniforms can be purchased from Brine Sporting Goods with locations in Maynard and Concord
  • Girls U13 Select team: for spring 2020 T.B.D.
