2025 APPLICATIONS ARE DUE FRIDAY, APRIL 4TH!

Annually Framingham Youth Lacrosse Program offers up to four scholarships (two boys and two girls) to graduating high school seniors who will be attending an accredited two or four year college after graduation.

The awards: The Jared Cotton Scholarship Award & The Natalie Ayotte Scholarship Award, are in honor of two student athletes who came up through the program (U9 -U15) and then gave back as volunteer coaches during their high school years. These outstanding individuals are Jared Cotton (FHS 2016, UMaine 2020) & Natalie Ayotte (FHS 2018, Penn State 2022). Both Jared & Natalie, despite busy high school academic & athletic schedules made time to give back to our youth program with heart, energy, & commitment. This commitment was evident even during their college years when they returned home in the late spring & still often volunteered their time. They have set a high bar that all our FYL volunteers, students, & adults alike, can aspire too.

To be eligible, students must have participated in FYL as a player & /or volunteer for at least 2 seasons. Applicant’s school records must indicate a probability of success in a chosen field of higher education. Schools of choice must be accredited as either a 2- or 4-year program or preparatory school. The Scholarship committee seeks a well-rounded student to be a scholarship recipient. A dedicated commitment to Framingham Youth Lacrosse & the Framingham Community will weigh heavily in award selection. 

To apply candidates must:

• Complete the online application Google form (click here)* where you must include:

  • A copy of your most recent high school transcript.

  • A letter of recommendation from a high school faculty member or coach.             

  • A letter of recommendation from a FYL coach/board member/volunteer, or someone who is familiar with your FYL participation.

  • A personal statement stating why FYL should award you one of these scholarships. This personal statement should describe your experience with FYL.  Please include how FYL has helped shape you into the person you are today, emphasizing your contribution (past, present, future) to FYL and your community. (Please do not submit a copy of your personal essay from college application)
